The anointing of God

When God anoints it’s for a time and season. It is by his will and choice. As a child of God never forget what you are called to be and what you anointed to do. Know that you are an extension of his hand or simply put a vessel here on earth to fulfil his plan and purpose.

Reading about David and his life I get to see how God anoints. It is was not by David’s choice to be anointed amongst his brothers he was chosen. God found the one he wanted in all the children of Jesse and anointed him. This David is the one who slew Goliath of whom most children of Israel were afraid. His words encourage and strengthens me. He says “Who is this uncircumcised Philistine who defies the armies of God. What great words these are, if only we can realise and come to an understanding who we serve.

With just a sling in his hand and being anointed he knocks a so called giant with just a single stone. After that he cuts of his head. 1 Samuel 17:51. Lesson to be learnt in this passage is that when you anointed and trust In God you have the power over the enemy. Pump up your sling and throw it, go after and kill him behead him because the victory is yours. Do not let the devil lie to you, see the giant as God sees it, then and only then will you see the power of God work on your behalf.

Then David said to the Philistine, "You come against me with a sword, and a spear, and a dart; but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel. This day will the Lord give you into my hand. I will strike you down, and take off your head, and the host of the Philistines shall be dead bodies, to be eaten by the birds and the beasts; so that all may know that there is a God in Israel, and that He can save in other ways besides with sword and spear." 1 Samuel 17:45-47

A remarkable thing that we have to learn in life is that God is the one who chooses whom to anoint and what the purpose of that anointing is about. Step in and allow God to work in you and through you. You are a vessel full of power and treasure from the Lord.
