Loving God

What it means to love God.

No words can amount as to what it means to love God. We cannot even comprehend what it means to love. Looking at God and seeing how he loves a people with so much sin and is always hoping that his creation would come back to Him and turn from wickedness, I see the greatest love of all times. How does one love yet they have been hurt so many times and by so many people. This is a love so amazing and unbelievable, it’s a love that is unconditional. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. God is the one who first loved us, like John let me, be ever reminded that God loved me first, 1 John 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.

To Love God means to give it all to Him, my heart, my life, my time, it means to acknowledge Him in all I do. The inspiration of how I live my life should all come from Him, I should allow His Spirit to lead and guide me to reach the degree by which I would know that I am in the right track of loving Him. My words should come to a point where I don’t just say I love God, but should come to a point where they carry the very essence of what they mean, that is to give selfless love back to Him because he divinely enabled me to love Him the very moment I accepted the Lord Jesus in my life.

Loving God would mean that i have to learn to put him :
  • First in my day, as the morning breaks give him all the praise and give my day to Him,
  • Spend a quiet time with Him in his presence and pray,
  • Continually meditate on His statues (His Word from the bible),
  • Acknowledge Him in my thoughts through out the day,
  • Lastly when I sleep take a daily dosage of His word and pray.
This should not be a legalistic way or just a routine thing, Its source should be a source from the passion and hunger of loving God and a need to spend as much time with Him that is found within my heart.

How wonderful it will be to love God without having to worry about what I can gain from Him. After all He is my Father my creator if he can feed the birds of the sky, the animals and all, what about I whom he created in his own image?
